An attempt on the life of Luthias Blackridge sends him down a dark and vengeful path investigating who was behind the attempt. Unfortunately, he returns with more questions than answers. Once back, he discovers that he is not the only one being hunted.
Darkness is descending upon the kingdom of Ellehcim and he now knows that the attempt on his life was simply the catalyst. The lives of people with royal blood, both present and past, are in danger and he is tasked with figuring out who is trying to kill them and himself while trying to protect as many lives as he can. The one thing he doesn't understand is why this all started with him. He is nothing more than the son of a carpenter and a priestess.
Now he must discover a way to track and stop a blood-thirsty dwarf along with his legion of mercenaries while trying to find a demon who is somehow in the mortal realm unbound to any mage master. The unbound demon is the key to finding the answers he needs. While he battles the forces of darkness terrorizing the Kingdom of Ellehcim, he needs to find the demon and figure out why this all started with him.
