This book is not a mere collection of written words, but an objective I longed to achieve since ten years. I met Lord Mountbatten, Sir Cyril Radcliffe, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy on several occasions while dealing with the dark subject of this book. Many displaced Hindus, Sikhs, and Sindhis approached me with their horrible stories written in blood. The time was kind enough to heal their wounds. The partition of India was really a bad idea for everyone as it caused permanent fissures among communities. The land where Hindus distributed sweets on Ramzan Eid and Muslims lighted earthen lamps on Diwali was subdued by the beastly people immediately after the partition of India. There was blood everywhere. This jarring situation is still drawing breath in the present continuous tense of the modern age. The world has become hopeless due to unbroken wars, conflicts, hostilities, and hatred. If we fail to take initiative in establishing eternal peace now, the future generations will not pardon us. The world may still become a paradise where rivers will carry water, milk, wine, and honey in great quantity. We should seek real life beyond belief, language, nationality, and culture. Let us live it fully. This is the message I want to convey to my readers from the podium of this book.
