After the fall of Palasera and his father's death, 11-year-old Moses Ezenwa must find it in himself to redeem what has been lost. In order to reach his destiny of becoming the Lion Clan's new Chieftain, Moses must pass obstacles that stand in his way: competing against his older and mighty brother Ramses with fears of eventually facing the tribulation Shadow Lord Mercius has set before him, fear of the plot against him and his family of both capture and execution, and fear of the Shadow Lord personally wiping out his family legacy.
