The youth, including Randu, Mirmur, Rita and Fredrik step up to become critical leaders of the colony while still dealing with their own "coming of age" romantic issues. Advanced technology helps them navigate the challenges of their new world, but human contact with the natives becomes critical. The Sig-Nordic also maintain an orbital presence in space, thanks to other crippled starships that arrive in the Sol system.
