Only days before Christmas, the "Awesome Eight" Reindeer of Santa's sleigh team go on strike! The laughing, name-calling, and bullying had gone too far during this year's Reindeer Games. In response, Santa reluctantly allows Glitchy, a peculiar and ambitious Elf, to develop robotic replacements called Reindroids. Meanwhile, Olive, the green-nosed reindeer, who had led the bad behavior that caused poor Rudolph to run away, now struggles with the guilt and sets out to save Christmas.
With her best friends, Elf cousins Glimmer and Glamour, Olive discovers Glitchy's secret project and decides to sabotage his plans. Along the way, they recruit allies, including Gloria, an Elf mechanic with a tricked-out VW Beetle, and her hippy niece and nephew, Glen and Glade. They also meet a mysterious snowman named Watermelon, and the gnometrons-robot-enhanced lab Gnomes. R9, the most advanced Reindroid, is inadvertently activated and chases the group, until Olive convinces it to join their cause.
As Glitchy's rebellion begins to snowball, he joins with unhappy Nutcracker soldiers and unveils an evil scheme called, Project: COAL. Meanwhile, Olive and her team, including R9, set out to find Glitchy. But they are captured by Glitchy's Yuletronic Guard and taken to his fortress in the Everfrost Mountains, a captive audience to his growing robot militia.
From there, the action jingles to life: a daring rescue, an army of Elves, an epic battle, fighting robots, snowball attacks, reindeer-vs-Reindroid aerial combat, a slippery escape, clockwork bird ornithdroids, a giant killer robot, a cybernetic champion, and rockets blasting off into space!
