Having grown up together on the mean streets of one of Sweden's least-attractive villages, Randy have evolved into one of the country's most highly touted punk bands. Their sixth album, RANDY THE BAND, follows the ferociously energetic lead of their U.S. counterparts Green Day. Randy stick it to the Man in "Punk Rock High," and to rich kids in "Rich Boy," all the while maintaining a knife-edge balance between youthful energy and tightly played rock & roll. But, though there's a nod to the Ramones and the Clash in "Teenage Tiger," after the dust has settled on songs like the iconoclastic call-to-arms of "I Raise My Fist" and the metal rocker "Losing My Mind," perhaps only Swedish punks could have produced the distinctly hopeful coda of "The World Is Getting Better."
