Allison Bateman never envisioned that she would be re-releasing the Bonnie & Clyde book, called Retribution. The past five years have brought a renewed interest in the 1934 Bonnie & Clyde ambush. In 2013, an old newspaper article surfaced and a copy of it was sent to Mrs. Bateman. That newspaper article lifted a weight off Mrs. Bateman's shoulders. She was struggling with her decision, to honor the agreement that her great grandfather made with Frank Hamer. That agreement, prevents the release of any video or stills that Charles Baker took on that morning in 1934, before the date specified by Hamer. She was intent on preserving the integrity of Charles Baker, Frank Hamer, other members of the posse, and Bonnie & Clyde. Now for the first time, there is third party proof out there that a photographer was with the posse. Mrs. Bateman once again, wants to make the general public aware that there is what she calls, little people out there. These little people believe it is their God-given right to control what information is released about Bonnie & Clyde. They try to accomplish this by attacking new books that contain fresh information. This book was attacked when it was originally released in 2010, and she expects the same thing will happen again. The attacks are in the form of hate literature against the author and the book. This updated book release contains all the new information that was in the 2010 release, plus newer information that was added in 2015.
