Set in the world of Lanis, Sophie, a young woman who has spent her life studying and mastering the arcane practice of magic, is forced to flee her home and a promising future in Zo'rahn-a land that esteems mages above all others-in order to escape the clutches of those who would use her talents for their own designs.
With the aid of a mysterious order from a faraway country, Sophie will have to make her way across arid plains, through primeval forests, and over treacherous mountain passes if she is to have even a chance at freedom.
