Provocative, occasionally humourous, sometimes dark, Sad Songs from Hush River and other poems with a capital "B" is a collection of Paul Vreeland's best lyric and prose poetry, many of which have appeared before in Canadian literary journals. Poet's Prayer: Let each stroke of my pen/ be a statement that I am alive/ and that I have found/ an instance of beauty this day.// If not, // let it be that I have created one/ through which you, dear reader/ recognizes his soul/ and hears his heart respond,/ “I too am alive.”
