What happens to kids whose parents can't raise them or never wanted them to begin with? What happens to kids who are removed from their homes by Child and Family Services? Who takes care of them? Where do they go?
Clearly effeminate as a child, GL Franklyn tells his own true story of being adopted by a reasonably well off Detroit family, in the early 1950s. The family quickly dissolves and he is turned over to Catholic Social Services. Thus begins a harrowing journey rife with various kinds of abuse, bullying and rejection, self realization and finally, self acceptance.
