From its earliest settlers in 1835 to independence from Milwaukee in 1900, the Village of Shorewood has heralded itself as "tall in stature and big in heart." Nestled between the Milwaukee River on the west and Lake Michigan on the east, Shorewood has flourished in the short century it has graced Wisconsin shores.
