Sisters Kitty and Jenny haven't spoken to each other since a very disappointing Carvery lunch many years ago. Kitty, sixty-two, thrice divorced and loving growing old disgracefully, thinks Jenny is turning grey. Jenny, sixty-six, married to her obnoxious husband Paul for three decades, thinks Kitty needs to grow up! Being apart has been hard for them both, but neither knows how to heal the rift between them. So an inherited farmhouse in rural France could be the perfect place for a grand reunion. But the getaway is a disaster! The farmhouse is a wreck, the garden is terrorized by a flock of chickens, not to mention the donkey with a serious flatulence problem! Kitty decides to indulge in the French way of life, rich red wine, fresh buttery baguettes and a particularly dishy builder called Leo. And Jenny finds that being away from her horrible husband Paul is actually really quite nice. And as the two sisters navigate the chickens and rebuild the beautiful farmhouse around them, they also begin to repair their fragile friendship. And as the sun sets on another glorious day in France, they discover that perhaps it really is never too late to change your life...
