Al was born into the ruling class of his country; his whole life had been all planned out for him from what he would do to whom he would marry. Though he longed for adventure in far off lands, he knew those dreams would remain but the longings of his heart. All of that changed on the eve of his eighteenth birthday for on that night as he lay in a troubled sleep he has a frightening vision of a dark and menacing terror. Within days his life is tossed into chaos, he is betrayed by his friend, falsely accused of a crime, banished by his family, exiled from his homeland and ruthlessly pursued by the Odio Magisterium for a crime he didn't commit.
Al starts off on an adventure that takes him from the sleepy farmlands of his birth through strange cities and eventually to the nomadic clans in the far frozen north to a fateful confrontation with his terrible vision. Along the way Al discovers that there is more to him then he could ever have guessed and that he could be the only one capable of defeating the darkness that threatens to consume not just his home, but all of the lands.
