On a winter night in St. Petersburg, Florida, seventeen-year-old Bryan receives an antique spyglass that belonged to his late grandfather. Suspecting this antique is nothing more than a trinket, he puts it aside until one night he decided to give it a look and something spectacular happens. Oceans away in Saint Petersburg, Russia, seventeen-year-old Nora suffers a bleak life living in an orphanage just outside the city. She only lives for two reasons, her self-adopted little brother Sasha, and a promise she made to her dead mother. When their paths cross through this mystical spyglass, they are caught up in the escape to a seemingly private world where they quickly connect and eventually decide to meet in person. Everything seems to be in order until they discover that not only are they separated by oceans, but they also exist a hundred years apart. Using the spyglass has awakened a malevolent spirit from Nora's past that threatens not only the current world but also the promise she made to her mother, and now her life as well. How can Bryan find and save Nora from a spirit he cannot see, in a world that is oceans away and a hundred years in the past?
