As one half of the Southern California duo Soldier Ink, Grumpy had already laid his share of hardcore verses alongside partner Stomper and the rest of the Hi Power Entertainment team before putting together his debut solo release, STRAIGHT OUT THE PEN. Grumpy proves himself a worthy disciple of the barrio gangsta sound, spinning a slew of prison-life tales and street narratives (not to mention a few ghetto love ballads) over hard-thumping tracks, sloppy snares, and computerized funk. Hi Power representatives Mr. Capone-E, Bozo, and the aforementioned Stomper make guest appearances.
