Two hundred and eighty-seven pounds of rated load on a 28 lb desk is an unusual figure and it comes from candlenut wood in the frame rather than board alone. The layout runs two large drawers below and a hutch above with two removable small drawers and three open compartments, which suits a vanity as readily as a writing desk - makeup in the small drawers, papers in the large. Overall dimensions are 31.5 x 16 x 37 in, narrow enough for a bedroom wall. White finish keeps a two-tier piece from looking bulky.
