The basement of the publication Telling Stories of Hope is a triple-conference from 25th to 30th May 2009 in Romania organized by the Foundation Reconciliation in South East Europe Sibiu-Romania in partnership with the World Council of Churches WCC. The first conference part took place in the Brancoveanu Monastery in Sambata de Sus with the focus on Intercontinantal Consultation on Healing of Memories - Reconciliation between Peoples, Cultures and Religions. The second conference part was realized as day-circle in Orthodox and Roman Catholic Faculty and Great Jewish Synagogue of Bucharest to experience the interreligious relations in a capital town of South East Europe. The third and final conference part took place in Constanta at Black See as a interreligious and intercultural Bulgarian-Romanian cross country conference Religion - History - Culture - Society: The influence of religion and ethnical identity on the development of values in culture and society. The second and the third part was realized in cooperation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation (Office Bucharest) and the Romanian Ministry of Culture, Cults and National Patrimony. For the third part we are pleased of the cooperation with the Archdiocese of Tomis and the collaboration with the Muslim Muftiates of Romania and Bulgaria and the Jewish Community of Constanta. The editors hope that this book encourages peoples to look into their respective generation remembering and address the wounds that have been caused, in order to build towards a future peaceful generation marked by peaceful coexistence of the peoples in South East Europe and in the whole world.
