Greetings. Not sure if we've met before, but my name is Merlin. Yeah, yeah, that one. When I got woken from my icy tomb and brought back into the world, it was not to the paradise I had hoped for, but an apocalyptic world where men were enslaved and monsters from legend walked the Earth. I did my best to rally the failed rebellion, to bring all the races together and fight back; and that we did. When the Phoenix was destroyed and banished from this world, I thought it was over; that we could rebuild.I was wrong. It's been a thousand years, the civilizations of the world are finally recovering, and for the first time ever, all the ancient races that had hidden in the shadows before, have stepped into the light and forged their path of destiny side by side with Mankind.Yet, I misjudged how entangled the soul of the Phoenix had become with the Book of the Dead. The evil witch ripped a whole through reality, and living up to her name, rose from her ashes and reclaimed her throne in Blackwater Keep. Consolidating her power, her armies have begun to march once more to exact vengeance upon the world for what had been taken away from her. Scattered across the lands, the free races are unaware of the dangers descending upon them, and if I don't find Nimue, retrieve Excalibur and give it to its rightful heir, then we will lose this war before anyone even knows it's started. And this time, I'm afraid that nothing short of every living soul cast into oblivion will satiate the Phoenix's thirst for blood.
