The word "evil" undoubtedly has the worst connotation amongst most words. What do you think of when you see it or hear it? The devil? Death? Racism? Murder? Storybook villains? Do you think of someone you know personally? Do you ever think of yourself in that way?Demi, the protagonist of The Bloody Tree series, has to combat that word in quite a few ways. Whether facing internal or external evils, she knows it is up to her to find a way to beat it... or redefine it. Her journey to self-discovery will not be an easy one, especially because she knows next to nothing about the world around her or where she truly came from. She knows even less about whom she is destined to become.
