It's the Good Friday of 1903, and Sherlock Holmes' landlady, Mrs Hudson, is worried. Her illustrious lodger had promised to escort her to the railway station for her annual Easter visit to family in the North, but he hasn't returned from a case. Hasn't telegraphed, hasn't anything. She enlists Dr. Watson to find his old friend, but nobody seems to know his whereabouts...Thus begins The Case of the Disappearing Detective, a short, sweet holiday mystery from the author of One Must Tell the Bees: Abraham Lincoln and the Final Education of Sherlock Holmes (East Dean Press, 2021). Praise for One Must Tell The Bees: Abraham Lincoln and the Final Education of Sherlock Holmes: "Beautifully written and immediately engaging, and the historical characters are brought to life with great care and affection...the story is endlessly entertaining." - The Sherlock Holmes Society of London"Bracing storytelling." - Kirkus Reviews"...a fabulous version of the end of the American Civil War and the hunt for Booth that will have readers turning their pages swiftly, eager to see Holmes on the trail of perhaps the most famous murderer of the 19th century." - I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere
