When Ana Winters reluctantly agrees to attend a dinner party at an estate outside Boston, she imagines she'll do a bit of networking, explore the magnificent house, and enjoy a break from the city. Everything changes when she meets Bill Arndt, a successful businessman who just happens to be tall, charming, and so devastatingly handsome he catches the eye of every woman whose path he crosses. Drawn to Ana and captivated by her lush curls and vibrant green eyes, Bill sets out to win her trust and her heart. Every instinct warns Ana to guard her heart and resist the incredible attraction she feels for Bill. Her friend Dawna couldn't disagree more and urges her to explore what she might find with Bill, saying, "Don't be afraid. Don't walk away. This could be your dream." Ana and Bill give in to their intense mutual attraction and share a strong connection until painful revelations convince Ana to flee. Despite her efforts to build a life that doesn't include him, Ana's thoughts are often of Bill. Yet, to Dawna's increasing exasperation, Ana refuses to consider reconnecting with him.
