It has been gone for three decades, but the titles of Eerie Publications are still sought after and enjoyed by readers across the world. Over a 15-year span (1966-1981) Eerie Publishing made its mark as a publisher of B&W horror magazines, competing primarily with the Warren titles and a few of the more successful Marvel magazines. Their output was a mix of original stories and plenty of reprints from the pre- and post-code era. WEIRD VAMPIRE TALES, was stocked mostly with B&W versions of 1950s stories, many extensively reworked - IN FACT, IN MOST CASES COMPLETELY REDRAWN ---- along with a few original illustrations in each issue. This is a fascinating look at how stories were repurposed for a new generation, made more graphic and gory. It is interesting to note that while these stories are all public domain today, at the time they were used in WEIRD VAMPIRE TALES, most were not.
