In this fictional account, the responsible and caring leadership of the fictitious senior living community called Wildstone, is concerned about some issues in their Carmel, Indiana upscale facility.   They engage The Team to act as investigative consultants to determine the activities that are happening and report back to them.  They are perfect for this case!  Because of their experience and age, they are able to become part of the community without suspicion and develop the relationships necessary to determine the issues.  In this situation, the general awareness comes early enough such that the investigation precedes some of the crimes that could have happened and could help end them.  Unfortunately, that isn't usually the case.
The Hard Truth!
I believe that one of the important lessons I have learned is that even if the perpetrators of such crimes are brought to justice, the victims do not often get reimbursed for their losses.  If the crimes are physical, the victims must still live with the results of the abuse.  While sometimes the crimes are solved, victims aren't often fully restored!
