They awoke in deep space... ...on a ship they had never known... ...in a time which seemed distant. They were exploring. The vast, the infinite, the mysterious. The cosmos. But they each shared a mental gap. A psychological disconnect. How had they gotten there? What were their origins? They are assigned the same mission and explore together. As they discover their deep, cosmic connection, they unearth a common past. And search for a habitable world that might still exist - but where? Would their shared mission connect their journey through the cosmos to a life once known? A.L. Mengel examines the origins of the universe in a sculpted, poetic vision through the lens of a rescue ship on an exploration mission. The story further analyzes the questions of The Vega Chronicles: Who is out there? And how far through space and time does our destiny reach?
