Spencer Hardesty is getting ready for Christmas and the holidays are always a time to see friends, old and new, only he didn't expect a former client to show up with a new case about an old death. Spencer must work against the clock for a client who's on a downward spiral, to find the truth while the truth will still mean something to him. Along the way Spencer learns that sometimes good and bad really can go hand in hand; he spends time interviewing the victims of domestic abuse who have survived, moved on, made lives due in part to the woman who gave her life in their service.
