This is the first chapter of a book about a young man who, though not wanting to hurt his mother's feelings, pursues the life he wants to live. this first chapter is about the young man growing up into the person who will embark on a journey to find what is thought to be a myth by everyone he knows and how he acquires the skills he needs. In the full book, I will do my best to tell a grand story set in a world that is full of things ALMOST impossible.
