Born in Ogden, Utah in 1907, Fred B. May became one of the key fathers in a long line of fathers and mothers who comprised the May Line. Beginning in the early 1700's, this book maps out the generations that led up to Fred. It provides brief life sketches of each couple in the May Line, as well as some who married into the line. These people came mostly from Scotland and the UK, but some had been in the States going back several generations, including to the Mayflower. They include Hunters, Lewises, Browns, Fitches, Andersons, and of course, Mays. They were farmers, soldiers, weavers and pioneers. One father and son were among the 3 who died at the Battle of Nauvoo. Another was imprisoned for his beliefs. Over the decades, they unknowingly worked together to produce the man who came to be known as Fred B. May.
This book chronicles his ancestors and provides glimpses into his collective history.
This is a companion book to the Giles Book which chronicles the ancestry of Fred's wife, Ardith Giles. These books have been prepared for Fred and Ardith's descendants.
