The old Persimmon Detective Agency was created out of boredom by kids out of school for summer break. Their Judeo-Christian attributes have carried over to The New Persimmon Detective Agency. The kids have grown up and mostly gone their own way. Wayne, who was the main character in the children's book, becomes a journalist, then a Kansas Highway Patrol officer and works for the Kansas Bureau of Investigations before starting The New Persimmon Detective Agency.
The New Persimmon Detective Agency has moved from the Osage Hills of Oklahoma to the Flint Hills of Kansas. Terry, another of the original members of the PDA, has also moved to Kansas and has his own cattle business. Wayne deals with everything from crime to romance.
Gary W. Burris
was born in Oklahoma. He has traveled extensively, living in 6 different states, 2 foreign countries and visited more than 12 different countries on 5 continents. He retired twice. Once from Phillips Petroleum Company and once from Bechtel Corporation. He has started 2 businesses. The Brazosport Computer Company and the Lonestar Tactical Supply Company. After retirement, Gary spends his time writing, painting, and producing a weekly YouTube bible study. He likes to say that his time at those activities keeps him out of the pool halls and beer joints.
