Travis Kingmen uses what love could be built through word, and attributes it to a story. That, as it progresses, do you not only begin to understand the meaning of love but the ways it can take somebody on a journey.
We find a sense in the main character, May, that we could not in anybody in real life. May, for a majority of the novel, belongs to us, belongs to our hearts, belongs to only what love you can find with her. She is fiction. She is word. She is a story being unwrapped, all by the beginning chapter.
