My memoir commemorates the 10th anniversary of a golf cart accident that left me a quadriplegic. I required emergency surgery that the surgeon told me I may not survive. I spent two days on a ventilator, nine days in intensive care and 6 1/2 months in a rehabilitation hospital. From the moment I was able to breathe on my own my wife, Sarah, and I were determined not to wallow in grief. Rather, we would try to inspire others by telling our story. I met a lot of amazing people during my road to recovery, including God. Many miraculous events happened to me along the way, and I am certain that He was responsible. Discover the many jobs that my wife has taken on as my sole caregiver. My recovery is ongoing as I face various health issues and continue with physical therapy. This memoir was my first book. I was never a writer before my accident. Writing keeps my mind sharp and I look forward to spending the majority of my day writing. Since this memoir, I have written five novels. I am able to write using a unique keyboard and mouse pad and a voice to text software. I have spoken to numerous groups, hoping to lift others up.
