At the Summer Solstice, the prophecy states the greatest powers in the history of the sisterhood will pass down to the next daughter of Eve, imbuing her with an ancient and powerful energy. She must be made to understand her purpose by the previous daughter of Eve. It is a great honour, and the ancient powers should be used wisely. The ancestral light energy is full of love and compassion remembering, the light will always beat the dark.
In the Sisterhood, we are introduced to four separate women. All of them must face the challenges of the century they live in, and the patriarchal society which dictates their lives. But more than that, they are destined to fight evil, utilising their ancestral power for the good of humanity.
First, we meet Sidonie in 1307, medieval times. Her best friend is Xavier, a Knights Templar. It is the time when the King of France decrees all Knights Templar must be captured and the Order disbanded. Sidonie has used her light energy gift for some time to fight alongside Xavier, and is heart-broken at the decree. We find her bravely carrying on without Xavier, to battle a satanic group, where she encounters the demon, Azazel, the right-hand demon to the devil. She must fight the battle of her life to save someone else's. Will she succeed?
Then we meet Angelique in the 1500s. She is a potter in her own right, but her abusive husband tries to do away with her and their unborn child. She must fight for her life, and discovers her own ancestral gift at a pivotal moment. Her daughter, Avignon, is due to inherit the ancestral gift at sixteen, but at twelve, she displays signs that Azazel is coming after her, wanting to take her power for his own nefarious deeds. Angelique yet again, has to fight for her life and that of her daughter.
The third amazing daughter of Eve whom we meet is Gertrude. It's the 1800s, and her parents emigrated with her to America after the potato famine in Ireland. Unfortunately, America is in turmoil with the civil war between the North and the South brewing. Gertrude meets heartache, not once but twice, losing her best friend, then her parents return to Ireland, promising to return to collect her, but due to ill health and eventual death, never do so. As an adult, she herself returns to Ireland, to retrace their footsteps. She gains a job as a cook in a workhouse, and is horrified by the deprivation the children are suffering. Through holy relics passed down to her, she is able to save the children of the workhouse.
Finally we meet Siobhan. She is a mother of eight children, and this is during the Second World War. Ireland is neutral during the war, but that does not deter Siobhan from saving as many as she can. She defeats a fifth columnist, and she saves an English airman from internment. She never tells her daughter Nancy of her heroic exploits during the war, nor does she explain to Nancy about the ancestral light gift which is handed down.
These brave women's stories will inspire and uplift, and some of those situations are similar even today.
