Both in content and studio approach, the veteran band allowed themselves some time to reflect and experiment, recognizing the path that turned them from independent college act to arena-filling rockers and paving the way for what's next. Mixed in with their typically optimistic and buoyant pop and rock songs are a number of gentler folk-based tracks that utilize acoustic guitars, piano, harmonica, and even hammered dulcimer.
