The Three Piglets
By: Melissa Meyer
incorporates the theme that what is normal and what is necessary, is not always what is right. In a childlike way, it touches on reasons a family may have to separate from one another and how although people may begin as enemies, understanding can lead to friendship. By listening to other views, we can find friendship despite differences.
About the Author
Melissa Meyer grew up in rural eastern North Carolina. As a child, her family hunted, fished and raised animals for food. Gardening and chores were part of her daily life outside of school. Melissa Meyer has had a lifelong love for books. The bookmobile, a mobile library, had a large impact in her life. Books became a special treasure to her. As a child her hobby was to write small stories for young children on the bus.
Meyer has had many worldly experiences in her life. At the age of twenty-two she moved to Germany. Two years later, she then moved once again to Ontario, Canada. Fourteen years later, she and her family moved to Butler County, Ohio where she has been a resident for over twelve years.
As her children were growing up, she spent her time as a stay at home mother tutoring them in reading and writing. Once her children got older, her love of education brought her to a new position as a paraprofessional in public schools. Melissa Meyer has primarily worked with children with special needs of all ages. After a decade at the public schools, she now has moved on to her love of writing books once again. She is currently writing books of different genres.
, however, is her first book to be published.
