In “The View from Trees,” selected from the short story collection, So They Say, eleven-year-old Peter craves the thrill of soaring—much to the dismay of parents Rex and Marcia Fordham. The taller the tree, the better the climbing; the more challenging the petty theft, the greater Peter’s excitement; not even worrisome twin brother Alec can curb his curiosity and risk-loving ways. Maturing dangerously fast, the twins stand on the brink of discovering the truth of their father’s secret life—and their Grandfather’s sinister machinations. When Alec is wrongly blamed for a series of thefts, Peter finds a way to make both their spirits soar in this story of brotherly love.
