The Way of the Cross
is difficult. It tests the heart and mind. It chastises the will and the soul. It purifies the conscience and spirit. It is a brutal, long road that few venture down. Even those who venture to the Cross are tested when they arrive at the Cross. For the Cross is the Pillar of Truth. It is the crossroads that cross-examines the heart and calls us to die. For those of us who do not fear crucifixion, we shall receive a promised resurrection. The old self will be slaughtered and the new self will be put on. For the Cross is the way that leads from a sinful life to a sanctified life; a wretched heart to a purified heart; a corrupt soul to a holy soul; a wicked mind to a righteous mind. Only by the Cross of Christ can we be transformed into children of the Light. Only by the Cross can we die to all that is ungodly and be redeemed and restored into godly saints.
