Retired empty nesters Raccoon and his wife Trixie became late in life converts to the joys of independent travel. Over the course of several trips and volunteer assignments taken during the twenty-teens these wanderers take us on strange adventures to off the beaten path destinations in Africa, South America and to an island in a parallel universe. They would find out as much about themselves as the peoples and backwaters that they would visit. Wherever they went they found friendliness, resourcefulness, shared values, spontaneity, that renewed their faith in the goodness of people. Oh yes and they found humour, there was humour everywhere.
Raccoon Sixty is a retired civil servant living in Victoria, Canada. He was formerly known as the symbol "Don't let your baby put their head in a bucket in case they might drown." He is married with two adult children. He is a cisgendered trans-species who identifies as a Raccoon but has not come out yet.
TOMORROW THEY ARE PLAYING GOD was winner of the prestigious BoonDoggle travel book of the year award in 2025. His hobbies include travel, emptying the garbage, and climbing trees. Tomorrow They are Playing God (sub titled Travel Tales from the South) is his second book and follows up on his 2023 smash hit It's All Because of the Virgin.
