Prosthesis refers to an artificial device replacing or augmenting a missing or impaired body part. Total Hip Replacement (THR) is a widely used solution for arthritis, hip fractures, and osteoporosis, significantly improving mobility and reducing pain. In this study, two hip prostheses with identical dimensions but different material combinations-Tantalum-TZP and CoCrMo-TZP-were analyzed using Finite Element Analysis. Various parameters like displacement, stress distribution, and strain were evaluated for different human activities. The results indicate that Tantalum-TZP prosthesis exhibited higher total deformation and equivalent elastic strain but lower equivalent stresses, except during the walking toe-off phase. However, the differences in total deformation and equivalent elastic strain were marginal. These findings provide insight into material performance in hip prostheses, aiding in improved implant designs for enhanced patient outcomes.
