This story of an artillery battalion in the European War of 1944 - 1945 is told not by one man, but by the many who lived the story and told it by note or word of mouth, that it might be included in the history of the battalion. Sources for the material are varied. Mentions of strategical and larger tactical matters are based on then current news reports as recorded and preserved by the battalion, and on such G-2 and G-3 reports as are available. The account of the battalion's tactical history is drawn from its own journal and records, and is authentic.
