All Tora Thurgood ever wanted was to be a fully-fledged Valkyrie, but when the war came and the demons rained down on the Realm of Man, she thought she had lost her chance forever.
At first, they thought it was rain. Water fell from the sky in large drops. Auburn leaves spiraled along the ground in beautiful weaving patterns, climbing the trees of Washington Square Park.
She remembers the water, the smell of sulfur, and the smoke and fire that followed. Then from the heavens came hell, raining unspeakable wrath on all below.
Night after night she hunts the demons and malevolent fae plaguing the Realm of Man, and tries to protect what little she has left; her mother Freya, her best friend Astra, and her squad of highly trained human fighters.
Tora just wants to be whole, to gain her wings, but the Valkyrie ritual isn't what she thought, and she will do anything to prevent Astra from being forced into the ritual, even if that means forsaking the nine realms.
