"WHO AM I?-I AM...." is a collection of five captivating short stories told by students with diabetes, blindness, Down's syndrome, cancer, and severe multi-physical challenges. Children tend to tell teachers what they will not tell parents. Anyone of these students could be your child, grandchild or child of a friend - hear their story! This book brings heartfelt and precious storylines about real life elementary school kids coping with diseases and/or illnesses in the regular classroom. Included in the appendices are strategies for teaching students based upon the Department of Education Common Core Standards. We hope teachers, students, and parents will be inspired and stimulated as these unique students share their dreams, aspirations, failures, challenges, and insights. Names have been changed or omitted to protect the identify of each student.
