The author asks the question, is there any hope for an individual or an entire church that has lost its saltiness? Can we as Christians hide the Gospel light under a bowl when so many are wandering aimlessly in the darkness in need of the light that illuminates the path that leads to Heaven? His prayer is that this book will challenge all who profess to be Christians to be salty (flavorful) in a decaying culture. For "salt is good, but if it loses it saltiness it is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot." (Matthew 5:13). This book consists of 21 poems and 27 newsletters and an article titled "If I were a Christian" accompanied by many Scripture references filled with flavorful principles and illuminating truths from God's Word. His inspiration for these poems came from many different resources. Christian authors, many different Bible commentaries, sermons he has sat under, messages he has heard on the radio, personal experiences, nature, and most importantly from the Bible itself. There are literately hundreds (over 500) of Scriptures referenced in this book of poems. Ted Roberts and his wife Sue have been married for 28 years. By God's mercy and grace, they have persevered through the many storms that blew and beat against them in this life because they have built their house upon the rock (Matthew 7:24-27). His desire is that God will be glorified, that these poems will challenge and encourage those who read them.
